Hi all just wanna say im new to corolla forum... i purchased my t sport last week.

i need help or advice... i find when i floor the beast it goes like a rocket but as i aproach th 100mph mark steering feels lighter and car feels unsafe. it feels like theres too much air lifting the corolla from underneath. my front bumper is a standard one would front splitters improve the handling at high speeds??????? if so where can i get one from got the money ready for one. i was told lowering the car would solve it but dont want to lower it at moment im trying to leave it genuine as possible cause i have waranty on the car and if i drop it then waranty will be void.

sorry forgot to mentions its a 2002 rolla with 55k and full toyota history.
also is there any recals on this model i should enquire about?

your help would be gratefully appreaciated.

Hi welcome to the club.

Splitters can be expensive an im not too sure of availability for the rolla, as you said lowering will help with your problem.

One thing you could do is get some lowering springs and paint them black so they look standard incase of a warrenty claim.

Who is the warrenty with?

Would have thought most tsports are coming to the end of their warranties anyway... Lowering yes... As mine can be a little light when really shifting but not that much... Maybe a strut brace to stiffen her up a bit??

Id have to go with what Msprince says, if your warranties with just your run of the mill car dealership then you'd have to be pretty unlucky for them to notice aftermarket springs if they've got no markings on them (as long as you dont go too low), However a Toyota dealer would be more likely to discover them, so if its a Toyota warranty Id perhaps leave it for now

thanx for advice.. waranty is from a local garage not main dealer. i called my local toyota today and found that they still can get front splitter but the rest of the kit is discontinued and was told front splitter is comming to the end soon. ill see how it handles after splitter is fitted.

i should br getting my k&n typhoon kit tomorrow and splitter too :-) looking into cat back system now. i have come across a company called vortex exhausts the guarantee 10% more power and 15% more talk on there systems. the said to dyno test my car before and after to see that it is true what they say about there product...if thats true i should see figures in the 210-215 bhp not bad for a non turbo car. i will keep u guys informed of progress on everything.i have come across racing cams and performance manifold for the rolla on fensport site if anyone wants to go that extreme lol.

Haha, if that's what they say, ask them to pay for your dyno tests if the results are not as good as they say one way of seeing if they are that confident in their product...

Sounds like you have got some expensive treats lined up for your rolla.. Get some pics on here and keep us posted on progress...

Oh and Welcome to the club... ;)

fitted my k&n typhoon kit today bit fidly but was worth it.. sounds nice and quiet at low revs but whet vvti kicks in its like a lion.

got front splitter coming tomorrow, cant wait.

ive looked at forums to try find anyone else who has misty front light lenses cuased by sun etc. it really puts me down lookinf at them the whole car is imaculate apart from the lights :-(
hey duttostuart would love to do some serious mods on my rolla but i got another beast in my garage that if spent loads on the looks of the car and now need to start on the engine..got my rolla to have fun in while the other is off the road. thing is the more i drive the rolla the more i wanna enjoy it and want to squeeze more power, u get me. ive always been a toyota fan and always will. my main project is a mr2 turbo running about 280bhp and wanna take it over 300bhp and also bought my wife a rav4. i should get some kind of certificate from toyota or something for owning 3 toyotas in my house lol.

ill get some pics on once o get splitter fitted.
